this week’s inspiration: thrifty chic

If you’re a regular follower of this blog, you would already know I’m pregnant (31 weeks and counting).  As my due date draws closer, so does the end of my employment contract.  This means that once I give birth and become a mother for the first time, I also become unemployed.  This isn’t due to anything but fate.  It just so happened that my contract was due to cease at the same time as my baby being born.

Luckily for mister man and I, we’ve had time to prepare.  We’re also fortunate enough that my partner’s income strongly depends on the effort he puts in at work.  Unlike working a regular desk job, being a real estate agent means that the earning possibilities are endless.

But this doesn’t mean that I don’t want to help contribute financially while I can and/or assist in setting us up just in case things become tough.  This week’s inspiration is a byproduct of this urge.  For the past few months I’ve been watching where our money goes and what we can do to cut costs.  It’s about saving money where you can so you can spend it where you want.
